The Gertrude St Projections Festival 2009
Theme 'Dream'
A Festival week of projected media along Gertrude St, Fitzroy Melbourne. Viewers can access our free walk, ride, drive - through outdoor gallery at night to gain insight into our dreams, fantasies and aspirations.
Launch party Friday 3 July at 7.00pm. The program runs 6.00pm – 11.pm for
a week.
2009 theme: Dream
Each year we set a theme for our community and artists to respond to visually. The festival shows our community and viewers different perspectives on a single issue or theme. Setting a yearly theme achieves our goal to provide an outlet for different views.
Dreams can be anything you imagine. Aspirations and fantasies for peace, safety or possibly for endless rain… your dreams are screened at specific outdoor sites from 6.00pm to 11.00pm for a week.
2009 aim
So visually respond to our quote,
“Regardless of your situation, everyday has a new dawn and in that dawn there is a new opportunity to start. Seize the energy of every new day and us it to create your dreams.”

The Gertrude Association is calling for any form of digital art (stills, video or animation) entries for The Gertrude Street Projections Festival.
Where are the works viewed?
Digital Art works will be projected on any exterior surfaces, onto buildings, pavements, out of windows and onto laneways from sites along Gertrude Street, Fitzroy.
What’s the Format?
• Submit your finished work on CD, not DVD or RDVD.
• Art must be in a digital format.
• We need the FULL QUALITY uncompressed files to be sent to us as one of the following file formats:
.mov
.mp4
.avi
.dv
[NOT as a compressed DVD like you hire from a video store.]
• There are no sound facilities; your work will be silent.
• Projections must be suitable for general public viewing; it needs to be suitable for PG rating.
How long can the pieces be?
Length is no more than 2 minutes. But you can submit more than one entry.
