On 17th of April 2007 the collaborative partnership between Monique McNamara and Kym Ortenburg began.

Monique had the desire to produce a community engagement art project since 2003 having worked on Gertrude Street for 2 years. The project 'Gertrufied' began under the Sprinkler.cc banner and was posted on the UP&UP Creative website looking for the right collaborator to make it happen.

Kym wanted to celebrate the Gertrude Street community after moving from Sydney into the Fitzroy community.

A fusion between passion and ethos to produce culturally engaging, inclusive, sustainable community art projects.

When these two dynamic people began talking they realised they had a vision in common - to Gertrufy the world!
