Melbourne International Animation Festival (MIAF)

On show during this years's 10th anniversary festival will be the best recently released and historical animations.

This was the second annual Gertrude Street Projection Festival and ran nightly from 6:00–12:00pm, 3–10 July 2009.

The Festival featured projected moving, still and installation art at 20 sites along Gertrude Street, all with the underlying theme 'Dream'.

Come along to Temp.1 at the Makeshift Gallery on Thursday, 6 May from 6:30-9:00pm for a 2010 Gertrude St Projection Festival fundraising evening.

Temporary Urban Art - only there for a few hours - will be available for sale, to be taken in the moment and walked out the door! There will be photography, urban art, illustration and more...

Kit Webster - Feature Artist for the 2010 Gertrude St Projection Festival

Kit Webster, the 2010 Gertrude St Projection Festival's Feature Artist, is one of the few artists engaged in cutting-edge technological art and design in Australia.

Since completing a Media & Sound Arts degree at RMIT University in 2008, he has gained recognition for his creative combination of digital projection and sound.

Pick up a copy of the History of Gertrude Street and as you stroll down one of Melbourne's great streets, learn about it's past and admire it's ability to bring us all together.

The book was launched by Rose Chong for the Fitzroy History Society on 24 July 2008 at Dante's Restaurant (on the corner or Napier and Gertrude Streets).

It provides property by property details of the buildings and businesses on Gertrude St, giving a brief overview of their age and previous uses.
